Hey Guys!
My name is Miles and I'm a freshman here at Wittenberg, ever since I was a kid, food had been a fascination to me. I was almost going to be a chef when I was in high school. During that time I had visited a lot of different restaurants and tried so many kinds of foods. My dream for a time was to become a great chef and cook all these foods and be
skilled in creating diverse dishes and serving them to people around the world. When I realized it wasn't for me, I developed a new dream of just traveling and trying new foods from around the world. I started to get out more and began eating out at fancy restraunts and visiting famous cities to test out new experiences. I went to many cities like Chicago, Cleveland, Boston, New Orleans, and Washington D.C. But none of them topped the most diverse city in America, New York.
While I was there, my cousin and I roamed the city, eating at all the five star and famous restaurants. It really opened my eyes to the world of food and it made me curious. Since food is the most diverse commodity out there and there are so many different cultures that embrace it, I wanted to know more. Thats why in this course, I want to dig into the history of food and explore the value of food to different cultures. I feel food can be enjoyed more if you understand its past and appreciate its origin.
